Accessibility & Best Practices Checker
Upgrowly's free Accessibility Checker runs Google's Lighthouse test on a page and explains each failed accessibility, best-practice and SEO check simply.

Google's Lighthouse test does more than measure speed. It also checks whether everyone can use a page โ including people who zoom in, have weak eyesight or use a screen reader โ whether the page is built safely and without errors, and whether the basics Google needs are in place. This tool runs that test through Google PageSpeed Insights, gives you the three scores, and explains every failed check in plain words with what to do about it and the exact parts of the page affected.

Guide
How to use it
- 1Type the address of a page โ your home page is a good start.
- 2Press Check. Google tests the page as a phone would; it takes about half a minute.
- 3Look at the three scores. 90 or above is good; below 50 needs attention.
- 4Work through the failed checks from the top: each says what it means and how to fix it.
- 5Open "Show the parts of the page affected" to see exactly which images, buttons or links to change.
What the results mean
- Accessibility
- How easily everyone can use your website, including people with weak eyesight, who are blind, or who cannot use a mouse.
- Screen reader
- Software that reads a web page aloud, used by blind and partially sighted people.
- Alt text
- A short written description of an image, read aloud by screen readers and used by Google.
- Lighthouse
- Google's free testing engine for web pages. PageSpeed Insights runs it for you.
Common questions
Does accessibility affect my Google ranking?
Not directly as a score, but many of the same fixes โ image descriptions, clear link words, readable text on phones, proper headings โ help Google understand your page and help visitors stay on it.
Why is my score different from last time?
Google runs a fresh test each time, and things like adverts, chat widgets or a slow moment on your server can change a few results. Look at the failed checks rather than a point or two of score.
Does this check my whole website?
No, one page at a time. Most problems come from your theme, so fixing them on one page usually fixes them across the site. Check your most important pages one by one.
Is my data sent anywhere?
Only the page address, to Google PageSpeed Insights, which fetches the public page just as a visitor would.
