Twitter Card Checker
Twitter Card Checker is a free tool that shows how your link will look when posted on X, and tells you in plain words what to fix.
- Free
- No sign-up
- Checks a live page
Twitter cards decide how a link looks when it is posted on X. Most sites do not need dedicated tags โ X falls back to Open Graph โ so this draws the card X would build from whatever tags you have, checks the picture loads, and checks the card type matches the picture you are supplying.

How to use it
- 1Paste the page address and press Check this page.
- 2Look at the preview: that is roughly how the post will look on X.
- 3Read the checks under it. If there are no Twitter tags but Open Graph tags are present, shares will still look right.
- 4Use summary_large_image when you have a wide image worth showing.
Common questions
Do I need Twitter tags if I already have Open Graph?
Usually not. X uses Open Graph when Twitter-specific tags are missing. Add them only when you want a different image or wording on X than elsewhere.
What is the difference between summary and summary_large_image?
Summary shows a small square thumbnail beside the text. summary_large_image shows a wide banner above it. The large version gets more attention when you have an image that deserves it.
