Common questions
Why does this matter so much?
Google shows your listing as open based on your regular hours unless you say otherwise. A customer who travels to a closed shop leaves a review about it, and that review outlives the festival by years.
Which festivals are marked regional?
Ones observed strongly in some states and barely in others โ Karva Chauth, Chhath Puja, Ganesh Chaturthi. Judge them against where your customers are.
How far ahead should I set special hours?
As far as Google allows, which is up to a year. Doing it once a year in one sitting is far more reliable than remembering each time.
