HTTP Header Checker
HTTP Header Checker is a free tool that shows what a server sends back for any page: status code, redirects, time to first byte, caching and security headers.
- Free
- No sign-up
- Checks a live page
See exactly what a server sends back: status code, redirects, how long the first byte took, caching, and the security headers that protect your visitors. Useful when a page behaves oddly and nothing on the page itself explains why.

How to use it
- 1Paste the address and press Check this page.
- 2Check the status and whether it redirected somewhere unexpected.
- 3Look at time to first byte. Over about two seconds and the server is the bottleneck, not the page.
- 4Send any missing security headers to whoever manages hosting.
Common questions
Do security headers affect SEO?
Not directly, with one exception: HTTPS itself is a small ranking signal. The rest protect your visitors, which is reason enough.
What is a good time to first byte?
Under 500ms is good, under 800ms acceptable. Above two seconds, visitors on mobile data start leaving before anything appears.
Why does my page redirect when I did not expect it?
Usually http to https, or a missing trailing slash. Both are normal. A chain of three or more redirects is worth fixing โ each hop costs time.
