Schema Detector
Schema Detector is a free tool that finds the structured data (hidden code for Google) on any live page and tells you whether it is broken and being ignored.
- Free
- No sign-up
- Checks a live page
Find the structured data on any page and check whether it can actually be read. Broken markup is common and completely invisible โ Google ignores it silently, so the effort someone spent adding it is simply wasted.

Common questions
What types should a local business have?
LocalBusiness, or the more specific version of it โ Dentist, Restaurant, Store. One accurate type beats several vague ones.
Does structured data improve rankings?
Not directly. It helps Google understand exactly what a page is about, and it makes rich results possible. Both matter, neither is a ranking boost on its own.
Why does it say my markup is broken?
Usually a JSON syntax error โ a trailing comma or a stray quote, often introduced when someone edited it by hand. Google ignores the whole block when that happens.
