What makes good alt text?
Describe what is in the image as you would to someone on the phone. 'Dentist examining a patient at Sharma Dental, Jaipur' beats 'dental image' and beats stuffing keywords in.
Should every image have alt text?
Every meaningful one. Purely decorative images — a divider, a background flourish — should have an empty alt so screen readers skip them rather than announce a filename.
Does alt text help SEO?
It helps images appear in image search, and it gives Google context about the page. It is also an accessibility requirement, which is the better reason.
