AI Readiness Checker
AI Readiness Checker is a free tool that reads your website and scores out of 100 how well ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity can understand your business.
- Free
- No sign-up
- Checks a live page
More and more people ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity to recommend a business instead of searching Google. These assistants can only suggest you if they can read your website and understand who you are, what you do and where you are. This checker reads your own site โ its robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap and page โ and gives you a readiness score out of 100 with a plain checklist of what to fix. It measures readiness only; it does not ask any AI assistant about you.

Guide
How to use it
- 1Type your website address, usually your home page.
- 2Press Check. We read your robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap and the page itself.
- 3Look at your readiness score, then work through the red and amber items in the checklist.
- 4Use the linked free tools to make each fix, then run the check again.
What the results mean
- AI crawler
- A program an AI company uses to read websites, such as GPTBot for ChatGPT or PerplexityBot for Perplexity. If your robots.txt blocks it, that assistant cannot read your pages.
- llms.txt
- A short plain-text file at yoursite.com/llms.txt that tells AI tools who you are and links to your most useful pages. It is new and optional, but cheap to add.
- Structured data (schema)
- Hidden labels in your page's code that state facts like your business name, address, phone and opening hours in a format machines read without guessing.
- Readiness score
- A weighted total out of 100 from eleven checks. It shows how easy your site is for AI assistants to read, not how often they currently mention you.
Common questions
Does a high score mean ChatGPT will recommend my business?
Not by itself. A high score means nothing on your site stops AI assistants from reading and understanding it. Whether they recommend you also depends on reviews, other websites mentioning you and how well you match the question.
Should I block AI crawlers to protect my content?
That is your choice. Blocking training bots like GPTBot keeps your text out of future training, but blocking search bots like OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot means those assistants cannot show or link to your site in answers.
Do I really need an llms.txt file?
It is optional and not every AI tool reads it yet. It takes a few minutes to create with our free generator, and it gives assistants a clean summary of your business, so it is worth having.
