SEO Watchdog
SEO Watchdog is a free tool that re-checks your websites every week and alerts you when something quietly breaks their Google visibility, with how to fix it.
- Free
- No sign-up
- Checks a live page
Websites break quietly. A plugin update hides the site from Google, a developer blocks search engines and forgets to undo it, or the home page title vanishes after a redesign. Nobody notices until the enquiries stop. SEO Watchdog opens each site you add once a week, compares it with the last check, and raises an alert here when something important has changed โ with what it means and what to do about it.

How to use it
- 1Sign in and type the website address you want watched. The home page is enough.
- 2Press Start watching. We check the site straight away to record how it looks today โ this first check is the baseline, so it never raises alerts.
- 3Come back any time. Every week we check again and list anything that changed for the worse in the alerts section, newest first.
- 4Open an alert to read what it means and how to fix it. After fixing, press Check now to confirm the site is healthy again.
What the results mean
- Baseline
- The first check of a site. It records what the home page looks like today โ its title, description, headings and so on โ so later checks have something to compare with.
- Noindex
- A small tag in a page's code that tells Google not to show the page in search results. Useful on a test site, disastrous on a live one โ and easy to leave switched on by mistake.
- robots.txt
- A short file at the root of a website that tells search engines which parts they may visit. One wrong line can stop Google reading the whole site.
- Canonical tag
- A tag that tells Google which address is the main copy of a page. If it points at another page or another website, Google may drop your page and show that one instead.
Common questions
How often are my sites checked?
Once a week, automatically. If you have just made a change and want to see the result straight away, press Check now โ you can do that a few times a day for each site.
Will I get an email when something breaks?
Not yet. For now alerts appear on this page, with new ones highlighted until you mark them as seen. Email alerts are planned, so it is worth checking in after each weekly check.
How many websites can I watch?
Free accounts can watch one website. Starter (โน499 a month) watches 3, Pro (โน1,499) watches 10, and Agency (โน2,999) watches up to 50, which covers most agencies' client lists.
Does the watchdog slow down my website?
No. Each check reads robots.txt and one page, about as much as a single visitor opening your home page. We identify ourselves as UpgrowlyBot and respect robots.txt, so you stay in control.
