A photo that looks perfect on your phone can get its edges cut off once posted. Pick a platform and what you're making โ€” a post, Story, Reel, cover, thumbnail or profile picture โ€” and see the exact size in pixels, its shape, and a preview of the safe area where text won't be hidden.

Shape (ratio)
How wide an image is compared to its height. 4:5 is slightly tall, 9:16 is a full phone screen, 16:9 is a TV screen.

The middle part of a design that is never covered by buttons or cropped. Keep words and faces inside it.

Common questions

What if my photo is a different size?

The platform will crop or shrink it. Use our free Photo Resizer to fit it to the right size first.

Do these sizes change?

Sometimes. Platforms update their layouts every year or two. We note when we last checked; if an upload looks cropped, check the platform's help page.
