What the results mean

Google Business Profile
The free listing that shows a business on Google Maps and in local search results, with its hours, photos and reviews.
Technical SEO
Whether Google can find, open and understand the website at all โ€” speed, mobile use, security and the pages Google has stored.
On-page SEO
The words and labels on each page that tell Google what it is about, such as the page title and headings.
Backlinks
Links to the website from other websites. Google treats good ones as recommendations.
Not applicable
Items that do not apply to this business are left out of the score, so an online-only shop is not marked down for having no opening hours.

Common questions

Where is my progress saved?

Only in this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent to us. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, the checklist starts empty, so print or save a PDF when you finish.

Do I need paid tools to complete this audit?

No. Every item can be checked with free tools such as Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, Google Maps and a normal browser, plus the free checkers on this site.

How is the score worked out?

Each section's score is the share of its items marked Done, ignoring anything marked Not applicable. The overall score works the same way across all 60 items.

How long does a full audit take?

For a small local business website, allow two to four hours the first time. It gets much quicker once you know where to look.
