Backlink Profile Analyzer

Backlink Profile Analyzer is a free tool that reads your Search Console link exports and explains who links to you, to which pages, and what to fix.

  • Free
  • No sign-up
  • Runs in your browser

Search Console's Links report lists the websites, pages and link words Google has found pointing at your site, but it leaves the reading to you. Upload or paste its CSV exports and this tool explains them in plain words: how many websites link to you and whether one of them carries most of the weight, which of your pages have almost no links, whether your link words look natural or over-optimised, and which linking sites are worth a closer look. It runs in your browser, so your files never leave your computer. It is honest about its limits: this is the sample Google shows, not every link on the web.

Your workspace

Upgrowly has no list of every link on the web, and no free tool does. This reads the link reports you download from your own Google Search Console, which is a sample of your links that Google chooses to show, and explains them. Your files stay in your browser.

How to download your links from Search Console
  1. Open Google Search Console and pick your website.
  2. In the menu on the left, click Links. It is near the bottom, just above Settings.
  3. Under External links, click More on Top linked pages, Top linking sites or Top linking text.
  4. Click Export at the top right and choose Download CSV. If you get a .zip file, open it first.
  5. Upload one, two or all three files below. Each one adds a part of the report.
You can pick several files at once. Nothing is uploaded to us.
Optional: helps us read the link words

Guide

How to use it

  1. 1In Google Search Console, open Links and export Top linking sites, Top linked pages and Top linking text as CSV.
  2. 2Upload the files here, or paste one. The tool works out which report each one is.
  3. 3Optionally add your website, business name and main search words, so it can sort your link words.
  4. 4Press Analyse and read each section: what it means and what to do.
  5. 5Download the CSVs to keep a record, and compare with a fresh export in a few months.

What the results mean

Backlink
A link from another website to yours. Google reads it as a recommendation, so links from real, relevant websites help you rank.
Linking site
A website that links to you at least once. Ten links from ten different websites count for more than ten links from one.
Anchor text (link words)
The clickable words of a link, such as โ€œSharma Dentalโ€ or โ€œclick hereโ€. They tell Google what your page is about.
Exact-match anchor
Link words that are exactly the search you want to rank for. A few are normal; a lot of them looks like bought links.

Common questions

Does this show every backlink my website has?

No, and no tool can for free. Search Console shows a sample of the links Google has found, at most 1,000 rows per report. Paid tools such as Ahrefs crawl the web themselves and still miss links. Treat this as a reliable sample for spotting patterns, not a full count.

Why do I need Search Console for this?

Upgrowly has no index of the web's links, and we will not scrape Google. Search Console is Google's own free report for your site, so its link data is the most trustworthy free source there is. If you have not set it up yet, it takes about ten minutes.

Are the files I upload sent anywhere?

No. The files are read and analysed in your browser. The only thing that ever leaves your computer is the optional authority check, which sends just the top 20 linking domain names to look up their Open PageRank score.

A linking site is marked worth a look. Should I disavow it?

Almost certainly not. Google already ignores most low-quality links. Disavowing is only for sites with a manual action for unnatural links in Search Console, or links you know were bought. Open the site first; most flagged ones are harmless directories or data sites.

Can I use exports from other tools?

Yes. Any CSV with a column of linking page addresses or linking domains works, such as Bing Webmaster Tools or a paid tool's export. If it also has link text and target page columns, those sections fill in too.
