How to use it

What the results mean

NAP: Name, Address, Phone. The three details Google compares across the internet to decide your business is real and where it is.
JSON-LD: A small block of code for your website that tells Google your business details in a form it reads perfectly. Visitors never see it.
PIN code: India's six-digit postal code. A wrong PIN can put your pin on the map in the wrong area.
Citation: Any listing of your business on another site, such as Justdial or IndiaMART. More matching citations make Google more confident about you.

Common questions

Why does it matter if I write Rd on one site and Road on another?

People understand both, but computers compare text. Small differences make it harder for Google to be sure all the listings are the same business. Pick one way of writing your address and use it everywhere.

Why can't I put my phone number or website in the Google description?

Google's rules do not allow links or phone numbers in the business description and may reject it. Those details already have their own fields on your profile.

Is my information stored anywhere?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or saved, so close the page and it is gone.

Do I need all of these listings?

Start with your Google Business Profile and your website footer. Then add the directories your customers actually use — Justdial for local services, IndiaMART for suppliers and manufacturers, Sulekha for home services.
